ABORTION - I AM BORN AGAIN.

A doctor once said something very hilarious to me with a mischievous gesture, after inspection of his clinic tells me that he is born again and do not engage in abortion services, yet five pregnant women came into the clinic within the hours I spent there and left the clinic very un-pregnant (if there is any word as such)

Even  as I write I am very born again but I will still say something you might want to know.

However we choose to define this word abortion, it is the ending of  a pregnancy before 16-24 weeks of pregnancy.  It can be purposeful (induced abortion) or  missed or spontaneous.

Spontaneous abortion can be as a result of the induced abortions done over times which causes the cervix (neck of the womb) to give way at a particular age of gestation as it is already used to.

Abortions can occur for different reasons, Unsafe abortion causes over 48,000 deaths and over 6 million admissions yearly among girls and women and this practices include using of sharp tools, herbal medicines, mixture of different over the counter and prescription only medications, use of alcohol with lime and so on. 

These practices have been known to endanger the lives of women resulting in uncontrolled post abortion hemorrhage (bleeding), Infection, Infertility(damage to the womb and cervix) and death.

Maternal and Teenage death can be avoided by engaging in safe abortions either medically or surgically. Misofem  (misoprostol) is one of the known medicine that can be used to prevent unsafe abortions complications.  Visit a licensed provider to help you through it safely.

While I pen all this down in my note pad, My Born again doctor sent in the ''unpregnant'' women to me for a post abortion contraceptive device....trust me nah, I counselled and gave them a method quickly.

*Allow the woman /girl go home without a method?  She will come back pregnant.*
