RAPE ALERT....ARE YOU SAFE???

A 10 year old girl at Bariga Lagos, where Olamide grew up  was raped 4 days ago. Her mother sent her to buy rice at about 7pm,  on her way she saw "Uncle" Jide who beckoned on her to come.
When she got closer, he held her hand and pushed her inside,  persuaded  her to pull off her pant and he raped her.

He told her not to tell anybody and he was going to give her money to take to school and buy whatever she desires.

The little girl crying and not knowing what to say left. getting back home, she was afraid to tell her mum with the fear that her mum will scold or beat her. But she didnt really had to say a word to her mum, she was walking abnormally and unknown to the kid, blood was dripping down her legs.

On getting  to the hospital the doctors discovered that her hymen was broken.

It beats my imagination to know that mothers really do scold their children when they report a case of molestation from an uncle and the next thing you hear is "common shut up'

MORAL LESSONS:
  • Do not leave your  children (boy or girl) alone with uncles and aunties, lesson teachers or neighbor's son . I have literally heard of school boys being molested by their mother's sister and a so-called uncle kissing a baby's breast and foundling with her buttocks. The list is endless.
  • Let your children understand who they should really call uncle, differentiate the real uncles from the fake ones.( STRANGERS)
  • No bathing of a girl child outside or in Public or letting her walk naked when their is a visitor at home, did I hear you say men are moved by what they see, Yes, surely  they are moved by match sticks, pencil, flat oranges, ripe tomatoes, just anything can move a man and later they blame it on the devil like Uncle Jide did...mscheeewww.
  • No uncle should pick your girl child from school, as much as you can, avoid it.
  • No child should squat with their neighbour after school hours while waiting for mum n dad to return from work. This period is very unsafe, cos your neighbour will care less, trust me.
  • Do not also send them on errands of collecting something from someones daddy or brother next door alone...danger might be calling.
  • For those of us that love to send our kids for summer at Granma's place without the parents, This is not too much of a good idea.
Granma as called is old and wont be running after your child up and down to monitor when an older brother in the house starts to play rough. I was almost a victim of this at age 12, my mother's cousin will always want me to be alone with him, but because I was a shy person I always run away.

My granny was too busy with other things and every mum will feel we are all family why should any one want to molest a sister's child but sadly this happens and would have happened to me.
  • Do not send your ward out alone to buy anything after 5pm, not even rice.
Lastly, listen to your children when they talk, pay great attention to their muttered words, they always have something interesting to say.
